Each year Girls Inc. hosts unique fundraising events that provide personal development opportunities for women & girls, engage the community in advocacy and awareness of girls’ rights, and offer fun-filled activities to take part in.
Durham Dash for Girls
Save the date for May 20, 2017 walk/run event at Whitby shoreline, 10 am to 3 pm. This walk/run, featuring a 1km or 5km route along the scenic lakefront trails, games, activities, and refreshments will be in partnership with the Durham Community Partnership Project. Your work to collect pledges and join us at this event will show girls in-need that you are in their corner and help raise funds for girls to attend comprehensive in-school Girls Inc. programs that inspire them to stand on their own two feet and fight for a positive future! Rock Out with Girls Inc.
On Saturday, April 15th, we held "Rock Out with Girls Inc.' organized by the local band, "The Shades of Grey" at 420 Wing RCAFA in Oshawa, the band played some great tunes and we raised over $1000 to help sends girls to our camps! Thank you for all the support!
Girls Inc. Week
Each year in May, During Girls Inc. Week Girls Inc. affiliates across Canada and the United States highlight how they prepare girls to be the success stories, innovators, and job creators of the future. Girls Inc. Week 2016 recognized the importance of mentors and role models and the difference they make in the lives of all girls. Trusting, mentoring relationships are essential to the Girls Inc. Experience and inspire girls to believe in their potential and value their strengths.
