Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) for teen girls ages 13 to 16.
The Girls Inc. Counsellor in Training Program, enables teen girls to build on their leadership and teamwork skills. CIT’s will receive training in effective communication and problem-solving, and will develop job skills such as responsibility and professionalism. CIT’s will assist staff camp counselors with the campers and daily camp activities. This experience will be valuable for girls that are looking to challenge themselves in a position of responsibility and leadership developing life skills transferable to home, school, and work.
BUILDING LIFE SKILLS THROUGH GIRLS INC. CIT PROGRAM:
EDUCATION: participants learn new skills and test new ideas in non-threatening environment.
GROUP WORK: participants will learn how to work with a small group of their peers, cooperatively making decisions that affect their group.
SELF-CONFIDENCE: participants accept new responsibilities in leadership, conquer fears, practice new skills, and discover individual differences in an environment that reinforces the value of
each person
INDEPENDENCE: participants will develop independence and self assurance.
FRIENDS: March and/or Summer Camp provides a place for youth to make new friends.
ADMIRATION: participants will develop meaningful relationships with nurturing adults.
$145/week for members OR $170/week for non-members during March Break and Summer Camp
